Moratiwa Molema 

is a Trans-Disciplinary artist working in Multi-Media Dance Theatre, Sculpture, Painting, Digital Art, Photography  & Poetry. She also directs & produces stage & film productions & video installations. Moratiwa has worked in the Botswana film industry as an Art Director & Set Designer. Moratiwa is based in Gaborone Botswana where she founded a dance-theatre-song & poetry ensemble called New Moon, which is an artist collective of traditional Tswana dancers, Hip Hop dancers & musicans, with whom she experiments & develops ideas for dance theatre using technology such as video montage, lighting design & Virtual Reality 360 filmmaking. The shows she directs become a merge of artistic disciplines & uniquely bridge traditional cultural dance performances with contemporary technology & aesthetics.  Moratiwa holds a BFA in Media Art from the University of Hartford, Connecticut & an MFA in Film & Televison, from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has lectured in Film & Live Performance at AFDA Botswana. She creates & designs live theatre shows & Fine Art exhibitions in Botswana & South Africa.
